LCP Group was founded in 2002 when Larry and Christina Pierce moved to the Binghamton area after attending Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Coming off the heels of a serious hockey injury, Larry began exploring the construction industry in New York's Southern Tier while Christina worked in Marketing for a New York City based internet company. Through careful observation of market changes, strategic investments in equipment, quick movement on niche opportunities, and pursuit of key personnel, we have grown into an established company servicing a unique set of needs in the construction industry. We have formed key alliances, partnerships and relationships and are currently working towards obtaining status as a registered WBE (woman owned enterprise). A brief history of each of our divisions:
DEMOLITION – in 2005, we began our involvement in the demolition industry as a customer. We realized that the process was cumbersome, challenging and overwhelming and decided to see if we could streamline it. We learned about the industry, the regulations, the contractors, the suppliers and the equipment and started to do it ourselves. Today we strive to offer a streamlined process that our customers can work through with ease.
ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION – in 2006, we realized that our package would be more complete if we could provide our customers with environmental services as well. We again learned about the industry, obtained the proper insurances, certifications, licenses and equipment to add asbestos, lead and other hazardous materials to the list of problems we could resolve for our customers.
METAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION – in 2012, on the heels of a large environmental demolition project, we were presented with the chance to construct a 90,000 square foot sand storage facility. Given our background in construction, we seized the opportunity and completed construction of the first warehouse in 2012 and the second in 2013. A third facility is going up in West Virginia in 2014. We have partnered with American Buildings to offer superior products and world class construction.
REDEVELOPMENT – with our equipment, insurances, skilled employees, partnerships and expertise, we seek out opportunities to redevelop blighted property, either as a contractor or an investor. We lead the way in many redevelopment projects for customers. We provided demolition, environmental remediation and site clearing at the former Howard Johnson in Vestal, NY to make way for 2 new hotels, the Holiday Inn Express and Homewood Suites. We have remediated and removed several homes and commercial buildings for customers including United Health Services, Elmira College and many private investors.
RECYCLING – Even before we began demolition projects, we utilized recycled building materials for our custom construction projects. Since our first demolition in 2005, we have been saving material from buildings. Some buildings are beyond salvage and must be disposed of in a landfill. Others however, have been saved by LCP in their entirety, including a cabin that was originally built in Ithaca, NY. View photos of the cabin move. We constantly look for opportunities to save materials from our projects and will soon offer these treasures to the public.
